3d modelling symposium

Sophisticated Tools in Architecture, Design and Engineering

From 7th - 9th April 2008 the Universität der Künste Berlin (University of Arts Berlin) will be holding the first 3D Modelling Symposium for architects, industrial designers and engineers in co-operation with Visual-Dream. This 3-day event for professionals as well as students of the above-mentioned disciplines will take place in the premises of the UdK Berlin and include three modules: Lectures, Case Studies und Master Classes. Top-class national and international experts will demonstrate solutions for contemporary architecture and construction demands, as well as modern design via 3D-modelling.

In the Key Lectures expert speakers will present multi-discipline applications, mostly, about Formfinding and Generative Design, whereas participants of the Case Studies are introduced to unique projects and product implementation. The Master Classes deepen the 3D-modelling skills by experienced instructors in the fields of product, automotive and architectural design. In addition there are Evening Lectures being planned with renowned architects, designers and engineers, the pioneers in the application of '3D into Production'.

The 3D-Modelling Symposium is considered as a network for model-oriented disciplines in a linked world of Design, Develop and Visualize. It is an initiative of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Gengnagel, Faculty of Design, School of Architecture - Lehrstuhl Konstruktives Entwerfen und Tragwerkslehre (Chair in Technology and Structural Design) - at the Universität der Künste Berlin and Ioannis Zonitsas, owner of Visual-Dream, authorised reseller and trainer of Rhinoceros 3D software in Germany and Greece.
